UPDATE! Winners have been announced. Stay tuned for more details on this year’s winners.
Each year, Maryland Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (MD H2E) gives the Trailblazer Award to Maryland health care providers that serve as models for other hospitals and health care providers and have demonstrated leadership in advancing sustainability in a particular area of operations. MD H2E invites hospitals to self-nominate for this award. Hospitals that qualify for the award are ones which pave the way to move all area hospitals forward by reducing their environmental footprint in unique and pioneering ways.
The Environmental Health Nursing Award is now entering its third year. The award is given to a nurse in Maryland who displays leadership and exemplifies excellence in environmental health and sustainability in healthcare. Individuals may be nominated by colleagues, or may self-nominate.
Any hospital, system, or health care facility in Maryland is welcome to apply for the Trailblazer Award and any nurse in Maryland may apply or be nominated for the EHN award.
Each award winner will be presented with an Award at the Maryland Hospital Association’s annual conference in June. In addition, the award winners will be featured in an MD H2E press release, will take part in a one day Trailblazer educational event (for all winners) in Fall of 2014, and collaborate with MD H2E staff to write a case study of the award-winning program.
