Join the Maryland Environmental Health Network
on Thursday April 18th for
Environmental Health, Asthma, and the Affordable Care Act.
Health Care Reform carries the promise of an increased focus on prevention. Could home environmental assessments of asthma triggers be covered by insurance? Can environmental health advocates help make this happen?
Rebecca Morley, Director of the National Center for Healthy Housing will share with us some of the national conversation about home and community-based services becoming covered by Medicaid and private insurers.
Madeleine Shea, Director of Population Health Improvement for the Maryland Department of Health & Mental Hygiene will brief us on Maryland’s approach to health care innovation, and innovations in asthma care.
Leni Preston from the Maryland Women’s Coalition for Health Care Reform and Leigh Cobb from Advocates for Children and Youth will join Maddy and Rebecca in a panel discussion about both opportunities and barriers, and who will benefit. Can asthma services pave the way for a wider range of Environmental Health assessments?
Date: April 18
Time: 1:30 to 3:30 pm
Location:
The Associated, 101 West Mount Royal Ave., Baltimore MD 21201.
