Each year MD H2E gives the Trailblazer Award to Maryland health care providers that serve as models for other hospitals and health care professionals and have demonstrated leadership in advancing sustainability in a particular area of operations. MD H2E invites hospitals to self-nominate for these awards. Hospitals that qualify for the award are ones which pave the way to move all area hospitals forward by reducing their environmental footprint in unique and pioneering ways.
Any hospital, system, or health care facility in Maryland is welcome to apply for the Trailblazer Award.
In addition, an "Environmental Health in Nursing" and "Physician for Environmental Health" awards are given. Each award winner will be presented with an award at the Maryland Hospital Association’s annual conference in June. In addition, the award winners will be featured in an MD H2E press release, will take part in a one day Trailblazer educational event (for all winners), and collaborate with MD H2E staff to write a case study of the award-winning program.
