A New Annual Survey and Awards Program for Healthy Food in Health Care was just launched by Health Care Without Harm today!

MD H2E strongly encourages each hospital and health care facility to complete the Annual Survey, especially those that are engaged in improving their food service in alignment with Healthy Food in Health Care (HFHC)! Those facilities that complete the survey will be publicly acknowledged in the HFHC 2011 Menu of Change Report and may be featured in the facility highlights section, plus there are additional benefits listed below.

There is also a New Awards Program with four award categories for which you can apply, for both health care facilities and for clinicians at those facilities.

Surveys and award applications are due June 30, 2011.

The goals of the award program are to recognize significant achievement as well as leadership; spur competition to achieve measurable, lasting results; encourage continuous improvement, with an emphasis on quantitative versus qualitative results; and benchmark progress in sustainable operations in health care food service.

All facilities engaged in improving their food service in alignment with Healthy Food in Health Care (HFHC) are encouraged to complete the Survey. Health care facilities that have signed the Healthy Food in Health Care Pledge OR otherwise meet minimum eligibility criteria may use the Survey to Apply for the HFHC Awards. HOWEVER, please only submit one survey/application per facility – coordinate with your colleagues to determine who will complete.
