System’s Highlandtown Healthy Living Center.

The Highlandtown Healthy Living Center is an exciting prototype of a better healthcare center. Opened in March 2010 by Baltimore Medical System (BMS), the center provides primary care, pharmacy, mental health, and ob/gyn services to 15,000 medically underserved people in East Baltimore. This 132,000 square foot state-of-the-art medical facility is housed in a LEED Gold office building and was awarded LEED Platinum for Commercial Interiors last July.

Green builder, Joe Holland, President of Holland Construction Corporation, will share his experience of BMS’ integrated design process and a member of the BMS staff will give a guided tour of the health center and describe the impact the building has had on both patients and staff.

  • Enjoy “meeting and greeting” friends and colleagues who are passionate about sustainability, promoting Maryland businesses…and better healthcare facilities!
  • Enjoy a light, but hearty, dinner prepared by Zanino’s Catering
  • Hear, and see for yourself, how an efficient and healthy building positively affects the lives of the people who work there and the people it serves.
  • Indulge with some light dessert (a little pre-Valentine’s Day treat) and network a little more!
